In a word, IRES. While we prepare for the implementation deadline for the new rules supporting the changes in the NAR settlement, IRES is making changes to our Rules and enforcement process.
IRES approaches all compliance in an educate first, fine second manner. That said, the implications of not following the terms of the settlement are severe and long-lasting. These rule changes will be in place for a minimum of seven years per the agreement that most of the MLS community agreed to, including IRES.
Fines for using IRES, or one of our affiliated service offerings, to communicate offers of compensation in writing, coded messaging, attached documents, or photographs will start at $1,500 per occurrence and escalate from there.
While we do address issues that come to our attention in the normal course of business, the bulk of issues are reported to us by other users like you. These reports help us keep the highest quality of data possible in addition to complying with rules.
